Director Biography
Amr Kamel is an Egyptian animation student currently enrolled in the Media Arts and Design Masters program at the Bauhaus-University in Weimar, Germany. After growing up influenced by Animation & CGI, and by artists such as Tex Avery and Chuck Jones, he decided to take up animation.. After brief exploratory forays in the disciplines of traditional and digital animation, as well as film and game design, he discovered his true passion in 3D animation. He has also tutored multiple classes on the subject, including several week long workshops for school groups to familiarize them with 3D animation, as well as tutoring, directing and producing a self-organized university project along with six other bachelor students: “Project: Animate!” with the result “Prometheus Industries” being currently screened at festival. His other works include a 6-minute musical in a soon to be released one-shot short film anthology entitled “99423 Weimar” and his Bachelor Project: a Webseries concept entitled “Deadlands” which he hopes to realize in the future.
